The Sigma Rho is an objective, referring to the tireless and never-ending pursuit of the ideal morality—more commonly know as what is “right“.
The Sigma Rho stands for Sanchez Roman, one of histories’ most well-known Civil Law commentators. His work is often credited as one of the foremost inspirations in the drafting of the Philippines’ very first Civil Code.
Our philosophies have long antedated even our very first founding members, being a pursuit rooted in the very foundations of not just law but human nature itself.
As a representative body, however, formal organization began in 1938 and official recognition from the University was marked in 1939.
We are proud to declare ourselves the oldest law-based fraternity in all of Asia.

The Sigma Rho draws its recognition from the University. It's members shall ever be the standard for excellence and integrity in scholarly pursuits.
The Sigma Rho ordains each of its members for leadership—their missions clear; and their success, foregone.
The Sigma Rho draws its life from the Fatherland. It's members are bound by sacred covenant to act as both leader and servant to the Filpino people.
Membership is primarily open to male students currently enrolled in the UP College of Law. We also maintain a healthy presence among select undergraduate students in UP Diliman who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and academic promise as future standard-bearers of the nation’s next generation.
Beyond the immediate support in law school, being a Sigma Rhoan offers a priceless lifelong professional network. Whether you enter private practice, the judiciary, or public service, you’ll be capable of finding Brods in every corner of the legal profession, ready to offer counsel and camaraderie.

This covers absolutely anything and everything, including providing transport logistics, specialized review materials, and a fully exclusive and supportive environment to ensure the Brods are mentally and physically prepared to top the rankings.
Absolutely. Beyond the walls of Malcolm Hall, we proudly organize various projects to offer legal aid, blood donations, and goods outreach through our Tatak Sigma Rho initiative.
