Seekers of the Right Since Time Immemorial

The Sigma Rho was never founded—it has existed since time immemorial. However, it was formally organized in 1938 and officially recognized by the University of the Philippines in 1939. Sigma Rho stands for Seekers of the Right, and also honors Sanchez Roman, the greatest Spanish Civil Law commentator of all time.
Over eight decades, we have evolved from a vision of destiny into a powerful force—both a campus force and a national force. Our alumni have shaped Philippine jurisprudence, crafted landmark legislation, and led major institutions across the country, fulfilling the fraternity's mission as ordained by history for leadership.
As a fraternity drawing life from the Fatherland and recognition from the University, our mission is fundamentally intertwined with the principles declared by the Constitution of the Philippines. We possess a basic commitment to the ideals of liberalism, libertarianism, Filipinism, and culture—forging the links that ensure the continuum of these traditions.
The principles that guide our fraternity and define our purpose
We're a fraternity with a clear purpose. We believe in leadership and making a positive impact, driven by our shared values and a commitment to a greater good.
As a significant presence on campus and nationwide, we're dedicated to upholding the values of liberty, scholarship, and Filipino culture that are central to our university and our country.
A true Sigma Rhoan's strength lies in our unity. We support each other, ensuring that no brother is left behind. Our bond is what makes us a true brotherhood.
Celebrating the excellence and accomplishments of our brothers across the nation

At the heart of UP Sigma Rho is an unwavering bond of brotherhood. We stand by the side of any brother Sigma Rhoan, right or wrong. The fundamental law is clear: the word of the Grand Archon is Law, and we give due respect to all senior brods and sister Deltans.
Our commitment extends beyond the fraternity. We uphold uncompromisingly the principle of separation between Church and State and condemn all incipient inroads to academic freedom. Through legal aid and educational programs, we actively contribute to nation-building and social justice.
These must be the ends towards which the Sigma Rho Fraternity moves, directing all its time and energies to realize its implacable destiny and to attain perfection of its collective will and personality.
